Istanbul's Art & Antique Fest will bring together antique dealers, collectors, artists and independent sellers at Fisekhane on Oct. 2-3, combining a marketplace for vintage and collectible items with exhibitions, workshops, talks, DJ performances and a live auction.
Visitors will be able to browse and buy antiques, vintage pieces, vinyl records, porcelain, decorative objects, artworks and other collectibles during the two-day event, while live artist performances will offer a closer look at how works are produced.
Artists taking part in the live sessions will also meet with visitors to discuss the techniques and creative processes behind their work. Exhibitions featuring ceramics, painting and photography will remain open throughout the festival.
The Oct. 2 program will include Damla Sandal's "Processing Memory" workshop, alongside an "Abstract Painting Workshop - Van Gogh" and a "Retrobot Workshop" for children. A DJ performance will also take place during the day.
On Oct. 3, visitors will be able to join a "Record Decor Workshop," while Duygu Barlas will lead a talk titled "Why Do People Collect?" The day's program will also include children's workshops focusing on abstract painting inspired by Van Gogh and kintsugi.
DJ performances will continue throughout the second day before the program moves on to an auction presented by Kaan Arda and Nukhet Ocak.
The festival will also bring together Vespa users, with nostalgic scooters set to be displayed around the venue.
Analog photography sessions will accompany the program, aiming to bring the visual character of the past together with the present-day festival setting.
