Kanye West, Bocelli, Scorpions lead Türkiye’s star-studded concert season

Türkiye hosted a strong run of international concerts and stage shows in the first half of 2026, bringing major names from hip hop, rock, metal, pop, classical crossover and performance art to audiences in Istanbul and Ankara.

Global acts including Kanye West, Andrea Bocelli, Alice Cooper, Megadeth, Scorpions, Pet Shop Boys, Patti Smith and Cirque du Soleil performed in Türkiye as part of world tours, festivals and special anniversary programs, keeping the country's culture and arts calendar active for local and international audiences.

Istanbul turns into a major stop for world tours

Kanye West drew one of the largest crowds of the season on May 30, when more than 100,000 music fans attended his concert at Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul.

The same day, Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli performed in the city as part of the world tour marking the 30th anniversary of his "Romanza" album.

The spring program also brought Patti Smith to Istanbul Bonus Parkorman on May 17. The 79-year-old American poet, songwriter and performer took the stage with a selection of her best-known works, adding a landmark rock and spoken-word performance to the season.

Rock and metal names keep Istanbul stages packed

Rock and metal were also prominent in Türkiye's first-half concert calendar. Alice Cooper performed at Istanbul Life Park on June 13, presenting a set built around his well-known theatrical stage style and classic songs.

Megadeth followed on June 23 at Istanbul KucukCiftlik Park as part of the band's "Crush the World" tour. German rock group Scorpions, celebrating its 60th anniversary with a world tour, performed at Besiktas Tupras Stadium on June 24.

Chris Isaak, known for "Wicked Game" and other rock'n'roll classics, also appeared at Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theater on June 20, further widening the range of international names on Istanbul stages.

Pop, alternative and crossover acts widen the program

The Neighbourhood performed at KucukCiftlik Park on April 26-27 during its world tour, marking the alternative rock group's first appearance in Türkiye. The band is widely known for global hits including "Sweater Weather."

Pet Shop Boys, the British duo made up of Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe, performed at Life Park on June 24 as part of Blind Fest and their "Dreamworld-The Greatest Hits Live" tour. The duo presented a set featuring songs such as "West End Girls" and "It's a Sin."

Türkiye also hosted a crossover program by Italian tenor Alessandro Safina and DJ-producer Burak Yeter, who shared the stage at Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theater on June 5 and at ATO Congresium in Ankara on June 6. Cecilia Krull, known for "My Life is Going On" from "La Casa de Papel," and Cristina Ramos, a finalist on "America's Got Talent," appeared as guest performers.

Beyond concerts, Cirque du Soleil brought its "OVO" production to Ulker Sports and Event Hall from May 21 to 24. The company staged eight shows over four days and reached 40,000 viewers, adding a major international performance-art event to Türkiye's first-half cultural calendar.
