The Louvre Museum in Paris will close its doors to visitors earlier than usual from July 10 to 13 as France deals with extreme heat, the museum announced.
According to a statement shared on the museum's account on X, visits will end at 4:00 p.m. local time during this period because of the heat wave affecting the country.
The museum said the decision comes as high temperatures make visiting and working conditions more difficult inside its historic building, where heat builds up throughout the day.
The Eugene-Delacroix National Museum, which is affiliated with the Louvre, will also follow the same early closing schedule.
The Louvre had already closed early between June 24 and 28 during an earlier heat wave.
The latest change comes as French authorities issued an "orange alert" in 72 departments, which are local administrative areas in France, due to extreme temperatures.
