An exhibition titled “Memory of Transformation” has opened at Galeri Deniz, a cultural and arts venue operated by DenizBank in Istanbul, bringing together works by three contemporary artists who focus on environmental awareness through recycled materials.
The exhibition features artworks by Ayse Sultan Babayigit, Ruhiye Onurel, and Deniz Say and will remain open to visitors until March 29.
Curated by Dr. Gizem Pamukcu, the exhibition presents paintings and sculptures created with recycled materials and mixed techniques, exploring how discarded materials can gain new meaning through artistic transformation.
The artworks examine the transformation processes of materials, drawing attention to how objects change form and value when reused in creative practice.
By using recycled elements, the artists aim to highlight the importance of protecting natural resources while demonstrating how artistic expression can give new life to materials that would otherwise be discarded.
According to the gallery statement, the exhibition transforms materials visible while presenting environmental awareness through an aesthetic narrative.
“Memory of Transformation” focuses on the relationship between art, sustainability, and environmental responsibility.
Through both painting and sculpture, the three artists use mixed techniques and recycled materials to reflect on how everyday objects can undergo physical and symbolic transformation.
The exhibition invites viewers to consider the environmental impact of material consumption while experiencing works that reinterpret recycled elements within contemporary art.
The exhibition will remain open to visitors at Galeri Deniz in Istanbul until March 29.
