Turkish culture, cuisine and arts were highlighted in the Bosnian capital as the Yunus Emre Institute (YEE) organized the fourth edition of the “Türkiye Days” event.
The festival, held in a public park in Sarajevo, featured a wide range of cultural activities for children and adults. Visitors took part in traditional Turkish arts workshops such as calligraphy (hat) and ebru (paper marbling), alongside interactive games and family-friendly entertainment.
Popular Turkish delicacies including baklava and Turkish ice cream were also offered to attendees.
Türkiye’s Ambassador to Sarajevo, Emin Akseki, stated that the festival reflects the strong and historic ties between Türkiye and Bosnia and Herzegovina. He emphasized that cultural cooperation remains a key pillar in the development of bilateral relations, noting growing public interest in the event each year.
Akseki reported that more than 25,000 people attended last year’s edition and expressed expectations that this year’s participation would increase further.
He also highlighted the participation of municipal representatives from Istanbul’s Arnavutkoy district and Konya’s Selcuklu district, who contributed with cultural stands and presentations.
Mehmet Akif Yaman, Director of the Yunus Emre Institute Sarajevo Office, said the “Türkiye Days” event has become a traditional cultural platform, now held for the fourth consecutive year.
He noted that the program aims to strengthen cultural engagement through hands-on experiences and public participation.
The festival also included a photography exhibition presenting Türkiye’s recent developments in infrastructure, defense industry and national projects.
Organizers further announced that proceeds from food and beverage sales at the event will be donated to Palestinian families residing in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
