The 9th International SOLO Contemporary Dance Festival is set for Aug. 29 and 30 at the CerModern Open Air Stage in Ankara, the capital of Türkiye.
CerModern announced that the festival will bring together 21 dance artists from 13 countries, including Türkiye.
The program focuses on solo performances, which organizers say are among the most direct forms of contemporary dance expression.
Artists from Portugal, Italy, France, Brazil, the United Kingdom, Poland, Georgia, Greece, Spain, Hungary, Czechia, the United States, and China will join Turkish performers for the two-day event.
The festival will also feature talks, workshops, and social activities.
Zihni Tumer is the festival director, and Esma Meydan is the coordinator. Deniz Alp, Ozgur Adam, and Galip Emre, all recognized for their work in contemporary dance both in Türkiye and abroad, will head the advisory panel.
CerModern, where the festival is held, is a contemporary arts center in Ankara housed in a restored former railway maintenance depot that opened in 2010.
