Police in Los Angeles arrested a woman on Sunday after she fired multiple rounds at the Beverly Hills home of pop star Rihanna, according to authorities.
No injuries were reported, but investigators say several bullets struck the property.
The incident occurred shortly after 1 p.m. in the Beverly Hills Post Office neighborhood. Officers responded to reports of shots fired and later detained a female suspect in her 30s. Authorities have not publicly identified her.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD), the suspect stopped outside the property in a vehicle and opened fire toward the residence before fleeing the area.
Police dispatch audio reviewed by the Los Angeles Times indicated that at least 10 shots were fired from a vehicle parked across the street from the property’s gate.
A law enforcement source told the newspaper that one round penetrated a wall of the mansion.
Investigators said the suspect drove away after the shooting in a white Tesla and headed south on Coldwater Canyon Drive. Officers later located the vehicle about 8 miles away in the Sherman Oaks area.
Police tracked the car to the Sherman Oaks Galleria shopping center, where officers detained the woman roughly 30 minutes after the initial emergency call, according to radio communications reviewed by the newspaper.
LAPD spokesperson Armen Arias said officers recovered an assault rifle from the vehicle and found seven casings linked to the weapon.
Investigators also discovered bullet holes in the gate of the home and in a recreational vehicle parked in the driveway.
Authorities confirmed that no one was injured in the incident.
Police are still investigating the motive behind the shooting. Authorities have not said whether the suspect had any connection to the singer.
It also remains unclear whether anyone else was inside the residence at the time of the incident.
According to local reports cited by France 24, Rihanna was inside the house during the shooting. The singer has not publicly commented on the incident, and her representatives have not issued a statement.
Rihanna, whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, lives at the property with her partner, rapper A$AP Rocky. The couple shares three young children.
Their sons RZA and Riot were born in 2022 and 2023, and the pair welcomed a daughter last year. Rihanna announced one of her pregnancies during the Super Bowl halftime show in 2023.
The Barbados-born singer rose to global fame in the early 2000s with hits including “Pon de Replay” and “Umbrella.” She later built a large business portfolio through the Fenty brand, which includes cosmetics, fashion, and lingerie lines.
According to Forbes, Rihanna’s net worth is estimated at more than $1 billion. She recently marked 20 years since the release of her first album.
