The National Palaces Administration has announced an expanded night visit program at the Topkapi Palace, extending access to additional areas of the palace complex as part of its summer cultural initiatives.
The night tours, first introduced in 2024, will be held every Saturday until Sept. 13, between 8:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m.
The program aims to offer visitors a curated experience of the palace under evening illumination, combining historical architecture, collections and panoramic views of Istanbul.
This year’s edition introduces several newly opened areas to the nighttime route. For the first time, sections of the Imperial Harem are included in the program, such as the Quarters of the Black Eunuchs and the Courtyard of the Consorts and Concubines. The Mabeyn Road Tile Art Gallery has also been added to the itinerary.
The expanded route now encompasses a broader section of the Harem-i Humayun, alongside courtyards, terraces, and key ceremonial and residential spaces within the palace complex.
Visitors will be able to access a range of historically significant areas, including the Enderun Courtyard, the Chamber of Holy Relics, the Fatih Pavilion, and the Imperial Treasury exhibition area.
Notable artefacts such as the Spoonmaker’s Diamond, the Topkapi Dagger, and the Golden Throne are among the highlights of the collection on display during the tours.
The final stage of the route includes the Fourth Courtyard, where visitors may view the landscaped terraces and observe panoramic vistas of Istanbul from the Iftariye Pavilion and the Mecidiye Pavilion terrace.
Certain structures in this area will be viewed externally as part of the evening experience.
The program begins and ends at the Bab-i Humayun gate. Audio guide services will be provided at entry, and the First Courtyard cafe will remain open throughout visiting hours. Tickets are available at the palace box office.
