The first trailer for "Big Mistakes," a U.S. Netflix crime comedy series featuring Turkish actor Boran Kuzum in the main cast, has been released ahead of its global premiere on April 9.

The production marks a milestone for Turkish actors in international streaming projects.

Boran Kuzum becomes the first Turkish performer to appear in the main cast of a Netflix series produced in the United States.

What is Netflix's upcoming 'Big Mistakes' about?

Created by Emmy Award winner Dan Levy and Rachel Sennott, the series combines crime and dark comedy and follows two siblings who become unintentionally entangled in the world of organized crime.

Boran Kuzum appears alongside international actors, including Oscar nominee Laurie Metcalf, Taylor Ortega, Jack Innanen, Abby Quinn, and Rachel Sennott.

Boran Kuzum plays Yusuf, a character placed at the center of the criminal world that drives the story’s plot.

The narrative focuses on two siblings who become involved in organized crime despite not seeking it, with Yusuf playing a significant role in how events unfold.

Production on the series lasted about two and a half months before filming wrapped.

Character rewritten after Kuzum joins cast

Kuzum joined the project after completing an audition over Zoom.

According to the production team, the character was originally written as Russian in the early version of the script. After Kuzum was cast, the writers revised the character’s background and made him Turkish. The name Yusuf was chosen following the actor’s suggestion.

The change placed a Turkish character within the central storyline of the series and reshaped the role within the production.

"Big Mistakes" will premiere worldwide on Netflix on April 9, introducing Kuzum’s character to an international audience.

The series represents a notable step for Turkish actors seeking wider visibility in global streaming productions as international platforms continue to expand their content and casting across different regions.
