Turkish actor Ramazan Tetik has died after a period of hospital treatment, according to statements shared by colleagues and professional representatives.
Tetik had been hospitalized after an aortic tear. His death was announced on April 1.
He recently appeared in the Turkish television series “Esref Ruya,” which stars Cagatay Ulusoy and Demet Ozdemir.
Statements shared after his death said Tetik had been receiving treatment in a hospital for some time.
One report said he died at the age of 37, while another said he was 31.
Before his death, a blood donation call had also been shared for Tetik after he underwent a long operation that lasted 13 hours and continued treatment in intensive care.
His funeral was scheduled for April 2 after the noon prayer at Yildiz Mosque, followed by burial at Eski Cekmekoy Cemetery.
The Actors’ Union said it was in pain over losing its colleague at a young age and offered condolences to his family and loved ones.
Actor Ceren Benderlioglu also shared a message on social media, writing, “But Ramazan, you really were a very good kid.”
Actor Cigdem Tunc described Tetik as “one of the most polite, most loving and most talented young actors” she had known. She said he never missed rehearsals and worked as a courier to make a living.
