During World Breakfast Day, numerous events across the globe and in Türkiye introduced the richness of Turkish breakfast to a wider audience. This day, marked on the first Sunday of June, saw embassies and cultural centers hosting events that emphasized the importance of Turkish breakfast in fostering cultural connections and promoting culinary traditions.
In Azerbaijan, the World Breakfast Day event showcased the delights of the traditional Turkish breakfast. The Turkish Embassy in Baku hosted a program attended by notable Azerbaijani cultural and artistic figures. Ambassador Cahit Bagci and his wife Leyla Bagci welcomed guests at the embassy residence. Ambassador Bagci emphasized the strong cultural bond between Türkiye and Azerbaijan. He highlighted the efforts to promote Turkish culture through collaborations with the Yunus Emre Institute, saying: "We are culturally close to Azerbaijan, but in other countries, the Turkish breakfast is presented as a cultural highlight. Today, every one of our embassies is hosting different guests."
Turkish Ambassador to the European Union, Faruk Kaymakci, introduced the Turkish breakfast to press members, including foreign journalists, at his residence in Brussels. Kaymakci discussed the global recognition of Turkish breakfast, featuring items such as cheeses, greens, olives, menemen, sucuk, simit and borek.
Türkiye's Consul General in Athens-Piraeus, Mustafa Somuncu, and his wife hosted a World Breakfast Day event at the consulate residence. Ambassador Ali Kaan Orbay hosted the event, during which students learned about the components of a Turkish breakfast, including simit, borek, menemen and sucuk.
The Turkish Embassy in Skopje hosted a breakfast meeting attended by tourism and media professionals. Ambassador Fatih Ulusoy emphasized the historical and cultural ties between Türkiye and the Balkans and the importance of Turkish cuisine in promoting these connections. He noted the significant number of mutual tourists between Türkiye and North Macedonia.

Representatives from Turkish institutions, international organizations, and embassies from various countries attended the event. YEE Kabil Turkish Cultural Center Coordinator Huseyin Gungor stated: "Our goal is to promote Turkish breakfast and its unique geographical products, fostering cultural interaction through gastro diplomacy."
