Cultural and gastronomic events organized under the framework of the “Turkish Cuisine Week” in Madrid bring Türkiye’s rich culinary heritage and natural beauty into focus.
Held under the auspices of Türkiye’s First Lady Emine Erdogan, the program featured a photography exhibition titled ‘Rock, Shelter, Faith, Life’ by Spanish photographer Pio Cabanillas. The exhibition was opened at the Museo del Traje and showcased visual works captured in Cappadocia and its surrounding regions, one of the most visited destinations in Türkiye by Spanish tourists
The photographs highlighted the unique landscapes and cultural heritage of several Anatolian regions, including Cappadocia, Mardin, Sanliurfa and Nevsehir.
The exhibition aimed to present Türkiye’s historical depth and cultural diversity through striking visual storytelling.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Pio Cabanillas emphasized that Türkiye cannot be fully explored in a single visit, noting that each journey offers new discoveries and cultural richness.
Türkiye’s Ambassador to Madrid, Nuket Kucukel Ezberci, added that the photographs reflect the captivating visual and cultural character of Anatolia.
Diplomats and guests from the cultural and artistic community attended the opening, underlining the strong and growing cultural ties between Türkiye and Spain. Officials also noted a steady increase in the number of Spanish tourists visiting Türkiye in recent years.
