The Turkish drama Deha (The Good & The Bad), produced by Ay Yapim and broadcast on Show TV, has won the Telenovela award at the 53rd International Emmy Awards.
The International Emmy Awards, organized by the International Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, honor television productions created outside the United States. Deha competed against series from Brazil, Spain, and other countries, securing a notable victory for Turkish television.
The series was represented at the ceremony by lead actor Aras Bulut Iynemli, producer Kerem Catay, director Umut Aral, and screenwriter Damla Serim.
Speaking after receiving the award, Aras Bulut Iynemli said, “I didn’t expect to be this emotional. This is a huge team effort. We came as a small group, but the award belongs to the entire crew. I am very grateful and excited.”
Director Umut Aral added, “Being here on behalf of Türkiye among dozens of countries, and winning this award, is truly indescribable. We accept it on behalf of everyone who contributed to the series.”
Screenwriter Damla Serim said, “It is a wonderful feeling to be here. This is a great honor for all of us.”
Deha tells the story of Devran, a young man with exceptional mathematical talent, who struggles to balance his ambitions for a bright future with the pressures exerted by his father.
