Turkish television dramas are set to reach Chinese audiences at the Beijing Culture Forum, taking place from Sept. 22 to 25, in a bid to strengthen cultural and media cooperation between the two countries and open new avenues for collaboration.
A delegation of leading Turkish media representatives, producers, and broadcasters will attend the forum to reinforce cultural ties and promote Turkish TV and film content to China’s vast audience, one of the largest in the global entertainment industry.
Forum discussions are expected to pave the way for these productions to appear on Chinese television channels and digital platforms, with Turkish producers viewing the Chinese market as the next destination for dramas that have already built large audiences across Latin America, the Middle East, and other regions, business-focused patronlardunyasi.com reported.
Talks with leading Chinese media and production companies will go beyond content export, covering potential joint productions, digital broadcasting, distribution, and technology cooperation.
Through this initiative, Türkiye’s film and television industry seeks to expand its global footprint and strengthen its cultural presence across Asia.
The Turkish drama industry exports to more than 150 countries, with the number rising close to 200 through digital platforms.
In 2024, the industry exported more than 300 domestic productions, generating revenues exceeding $500 million.
In addition to television broadcasts, series produced for digital platforms have expanded global access, with an estimated 1 billion unique viewers worldwide.
