Erzurum will roll out a packed edition of the Culture Route Festival, staged by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, bringing 400 events to 40 locations across the city. Organizers expect strong interest after last year’s edition drew about 1 million visitors.
The main stage at the Erzurum Meeting and Event Area is set to bring together leading performers.
Haluk Levent, Sagopa Kajmer, Ferhat Gocer, Merve Ozbey, Derya Ulug, Bayhan, Siyam, Murat Dalkilic and Serkan Kaya will take the stage to meet fans throughout the week.
Officials say the program has been designed to reach every audience with exhibitions, talks, theatre and opera, alongside classical and Sufi music, traditional arts, the asiklik tradition (folk troubadour heritage), children’s games and traditional sports.
As Provincial Director of Culture and Tourism Ahmet Yer put it, “Our ministry has planned events that will make everyone from 7 to 70 happy and give them cherishable moments this year as well.”
Beyond headline concerts, the festival plans to set out exhibitions and activities that highlight Erzurum’s tangible and intangible cultural heritage.
According to organizers, the city’s historic buildings will host art to create a bridge between the past and future.
Erzurum has been selected as the “2025 Tourism Capital” by the Economic Cooperation Organization (EIT) and has been named the “European Capital of Winter Sports,” which officials believe will help bring in broader audiences.
Inviting visitors to join in, Yer said: “Let them discover Erzurum’s historical richness, cultural diversity and natural beauty, taste its gastronomy, and share these beauties together.”
