Renowned Greek singer Konstantinos Argiros is set to perform in Türkiye for the first time, with a highly anticipated concert on July 9 at the Harbiye Cemil Topuzlu Open-Air Theatre in Istanbul.
The concert is organized by Sinkron Management Consultancy. Sponsors include Aegean Airlines, Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus, Jolly, Royal Motors, Invest Greece, Tulpar, Square Group, Keti-Kaan Terzioglu and Muhtar Kent.
Proceeds from the concert will support educational and cultural projects of the historic Zapyon Greek School, which is celebrating its 150th anniversary.
Speaking at a press event held at Hilton Istanbul Bosphorus, Konstantinos Argiros shared his excitement about performing in Türkiye. "I am thrilled to be in Istanbul. I have always been inspired by the rich musical heritage of different cultures, including Türkiye," he said. "As a child, I was a fan of Bülent Ersoy and Ibrahim Tatlises. Their music had a significant influence on me."
Argiros highlighted his deep connection with Türkiye, noting that he has many Turkish friends and has always received a warm welcome from Turkish fans, even during his concerts in the United States.
The Greek star emphasized his appreciation for Turkish music and expressed interest in future collaborations with Turkish artists. He revealed that he maintains a close friendship with Acun Ilicali due to his role as a judge on the Greek version of "The Voice."
"I have been listening to Turkish artists since childhood, and I am excited about the possibility of future collaborations. Turkish and Greek music have a long history of mutual influence, and I will continue this tradition as a new generation artist," Argiros stated.
Argiros promised a unique musical experience for his Istanbul audience, explaining that he always incorporates cultural elements from the countries he performs in. "For this concert, we have a planned setlist, but I will add something special to honor Türkiye's rich musical culture," he noted.
The Greek singer also revealed his childhood dream of becoming an actor, which he hopes to explore soon. "Although music became my path, I still want to try acting. I cannot share details now, but there will be a future project," he said, adding that he intends to write the music for any film he participates in.
Argiros also hinted at exciting surprises in his upcoming album, which will blend new musical trends and technology.
