Akdeniz University in Türkiye announced that 23 of its academics have been included in the “World’s Most Influential Scientists 2025” list, a global ranking prepared in collaboration between the academic publishing company Elsevier and Stanford University.
The university stated that the annual list highlights leading researchers across 22 main disciplines and 174 sub-disciplines. More than 200,000 scientists worldwide were evaluated this year, based on their published works and their impact on the scientific community.
Researchers with at least five publications were assessed according to a range of indicators, including the number of citations, the H-index (a measure of both productivity and impact), the modified Hm-index, the C-score (a composite ranking system), and citations linked to author position. To qualify, scientists needed to be ranked within the top 100,000 globally or within the top 2 percent in their specific sub-discipline.
The statement emphasized that 13 academics from Akdeniz University succeeded in securing a place in both categories of the list, “Career-Long Impact” and “Annual Impact,” which recognize sustained influence over a career as well as notable achievements in the past year.
