A group of classic car enthusiasts who set out from Belgium arrived in Türkiye and visited Gobeklitepe, the UNESCO World Heritage site in Sanliurfa, after touring Azerbaijan and Georgia.
Under an event supported by the Sanliurfa Metropolitan Municipality— the city government—the travelers toured the site, received briefings from officials, and put their vintage vehicles on display for visitors.
The group called in at Gobeklitepe, which is on the UNESCO World Heritage List—a designation for places considered to have outstanding universal value to humanity—as part of a wider journey that linked their motoring passion with cultural stops across the region.
They moved through the site with guides, listened to explanations, and then lined up their cars to showcase them on the grounds set aside for the visit.
Sanliurfa Metropolitan Municipality backed the program and emphasized why projects like this matter for the city’s profile.
Mayor Mehmet Kasim Gulpinar told reporters that being part of such events is important for Sanliurfa’s image and outreach, noting that the visit serves as promotion for the city.
He added a message that the administration wants to highlight to travelers and investors alike: “Tourism means life and the future.”
He said the city has the potential to carry that message forward.
Organizers said the convoy had already visited Azerbaijan and Georgia before entering Türkiye, rounding off that leg of the trip with a stop in Sanliurfa and a guided walk through Gobeklitepe.
