Ben Affleck and Jamie Ding won the top prize on "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire." Affleck added his name to the list of celebrity "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" contestants, teaming up with "Jeopardy!" standout Ding to nail all 15 questions on the July 29 episode.
The pair's flawless run sent $1 million to the Eastern Congo Initiative, the advocacy and grant-making nonprofit Affleck co-founded to support communities in eastern Congo.
Picking up from the previous week's cliffhanger, the episode opened with just two questions standing between the duo and the jackpot.
Affleck used the moment to spotlight his charity's mission, describing how it backs grassroots groups in a region left reeling by years of devastating conflict.
In the final question, Affleck and Ding had to guess which turkeys were not pardoned by a U.S. president, choosing among Peanut Butter & Jelly, Tater & Tot, Mac & Cheese, and Spaghetti & Meatball.
Not knowing the answer, they turned to Jimmy Kimmel for help, and though he admitted he wasn't certain, he pointed them toward Spaghetti & Meatball. They then phoned Ding's trivia partner Stephen Morrison, who also couldn't come up with an answer in time.
With no better option, Affleck decided to trust Kimmel's instinct, saying he'd rather bet on him and go for it.
As Ding locked in the answer, Kimmel admitted the tension was getting to him, joking about his nerves as the room waited. After a long moment of suspense, the show revealed Spaghetti & Meatball to be the correct answer.
Their win makes them the fifth pair to claim the top prize since Kimmel took over the show in 2020, joining David Chang's solo win in 2020, father-son duo Ike and Alan Barinholtz in 2024, Matt Damon and Ken Jennings in 2025, and "The Office" alums Oscar Nunez and Kate Flannery earlier this year.
