Authorities in Bozcaada have implemented new transportation regulations on the island in an effort to ease ferry congestion during the peak summer tourism season.
Under a decision taken by the District Traffic Commission, midibuses and buses with a seating capacity of 19 to 32 passengers are prohibited from crossing to Bozcaada throughout the summer period.
The measure is intended to ease pressure on the Geyikli–Bozcaada ferry line amid rising tourist traffic.
In addition, access for trucks, lorries, and construction machinery has been restricted to specific days.
These vehicles will only be allowed to enter the island on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, while entry will be prohibited on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and official holidays.
The ferry operator GESTAS, responsible for maritime transportation across the Canakkale Strait and nearby islands, has urged vehicle owners to plan their travel in accordance with the updated schedule.
