In the Kagizman district of Kars, trees turning shades of yellow, orange, and red have created colorful fall scenery. Kars is a province in northeastern Türkiye known for its long and harsh winters.
Kagizman has a distinct climate because of the microclimate of the Aras River Valley, a local weather pattern that differs from that of the surrounding area.
The autumn colors have spread across the district center and the surrounding orchards, where leaves on the trees have turned yellow, orange, and red.
Apples and other fruits hanging from the branches have added further color to the landscape. The shades are especially vivid in the apricot and apple orchards, which reflect the vibrant tones of the season.
Fertile soils and the unique climate of the Aras Valley are among the features that distinguish Kagizman.
The district attracts attention in the fall for its natural beauty, which offers diverse landscapes for photography enthusiasts.
Sulhettin Gunday, president of the Kagizman Chamber of Agriculture, said the district’s nature takes on a distinct beauty in every season. He described what each season brings to the area.
“Kagizman is beautiful in spring with its colorful flowers, in summer with its apricots, sour cherries, cherries and mulberries, and in fall with its walnuts, quinces, long apples and the golden hues of nature,” Gunday said.
He added, “In the fall, the trees burst into a variety of colors. We invite everyone to come here.”
