The coastal tourism hub of Bodrum has experienced a significant rise in reservations following the announcement that Türkiye’s Eid al-Adha holiday has been extended to nine days.
According to sector representatives, booking activity accelerated immediately after the decision, with a notable spike in both online and telephone reservations.
Hotel occupancy rates across the district have reached approximately 80%, with expectations that figures may increase further in the days leading up to the holiday period.
Tourism stakeholders estimate that the district could host between 750,000 and 1 million domestic tourists during the extended holiday period. The influx is expected to generate significant activity across hotels, restaurants, transportation services and entertainment venues.
Hotels and tourism establishments in Bodrum have accelerated preparations, including maintenance work, staffing arrangements, and operational improvements, to handle the anticipated surge in visitors.
Local businesses and authorities are also preparing for increased traffic and congestion during the holiday period.
