The legendary Venice Simplon Orient Express, one of Europe’s most prestigious trains, has arrived in Türkiye for its second journey of the year.
The train pulled into Istanbul’s Bakirkoy Marmaray station after crossing through Hungary, Romania, and Bulgaria.
Departing from Paris, the train entered Türkiye early in the morning via the Kapikule station near the Bulgarian border.
Its arrival in Istanbul was marked by a special reception, complete with a red carpet for the passengers who continued on to their hotels in the city.
Members of the press were given a rare opportunity to tour the train’s most exclusive carriage.
The interiors, from lounge curtains to lighting fixtures, have been carefully designed to reflect a nostalgic atmosphere. The train is composed of 16 carriages in total and continues to attract strong interest from enthusiasts of vintage travel.
The Venice Simplon Orient Express is scheduled to leave Istanbul on Oct. 3, 2025, at 2:05 p.m., marking the continuation of its celebrated journeys across Europe. The arrival and docking of the train at the station were captured with aerial footage, underlining the significance of the occasion.
