Miss Universe 2025 contestant Ceren Arslan, who represented Türkiye but did not make the top 30, returned from Thailand and told reporters at the airport that she believed her efforts had been overlooked. Welcomed with flowers and Turkish flags, Arslan explained that she sensed the outcome one day before the final.

She said the atmosphere during rehearsals affected her emotionally, adding that her excitement “turned into a bittersweet feeling” after watching what she described as the final’s “unspoken preview” during the last rehearsal. Although she did not expect to win, she said she was confident she deserved to be in the top 30.

Claim of favoritism sparks debate

Arslan also addressed the allegation circulating online that the winner, Mexico’s Fatima Bosch Fernandez, benefited from favoritism due to a claimed professional link between her father, Bernardo Bosch, and Miss Universe CEO Raul Rocha.

She said she shared this perception, adding that she planned to present documents at a later stage. According to Arslan, audience votes from Türkiye alone showed she had earned a place in the top group, especially considering she ranked first in four to five public categories. She argued that the judging panel’s decision not to include her in the top 30 strengthened her sense of unfair treatment.

Responding to aesthetic surgery claims

Arslan also rejected suggestions that she had undergone aesthetic procedures. She said she found it painful to face such accusations at a moment when she believed her “rights had already been violated.” She noted that only three contestants in the competition had no cosmetic operations, claiming that the winner herself had a nose operation. Arslan added that she had naturally full lips since childhood.

Arslan said she would be open to acting opportunities following the competition. She explained that she believed she had the potential to take part in new projects and wanted to explore this path further.
