Liverpool’s Egyptian superstar Mohamed Salah, known for his global following and remarkable talent in the English Premier League, arrived in Türkiye’s Bodrum resort district for a holiday.
According to reports by Haberturk, the 33-year-old footballer, whose weekly earnings are around £480,000 (approximately $606,000), chose a seafood restaurant in Gumusluk to spend an evening with a group of seven friends.
When he came across journalists waiting outside the venue, Salah responded calmly, saying, “I am only here for vacation, if you allow,” before moving on.
What truly caused a stir on social media was the cost of the group’s meal. Salah’s bill reportedly came to $1,500 (₺60,000). Many users were stunned by the amount, debating whether such a figure was reasonable for a seafood dinner, even in one of Türkiye’s most exclusive tourist hotspots.
This bill, however, paled in comparison to a recent splurge by Liverpool’s new transfer Jeremie Frimpong, who had been reported to have paid ₺600,000—roughly $15,000—for a single dinner in Bodrum only days earlier.
Following his seafood feast, Salah wasted no time in continuing his vacation plans, later heading for a night out at a club in Yalikavak, another Bodrum location well known for its luxury nightlife scene.
