Snow has fallen on Mount Erciyes, a volcanic peak in Kayseri known as the roof of Central Anatolia, marking the start of the winter season at one of the region’s best-known mountains.
As temperatures dropped below freezing, the slopes of Erciyes were covered with a white blanket that stretched across the upper reaches of the mountain.
Snow continues to fall intermittently at Erciyes, which is one of Türkiye’s major ski resorts and draws winter sports enthusiasts from across the country every year.
The summit of the mountain, wrapped in clouds as the snowfall continues, has created striking scenes for those looking up at the peak from the surrounding area.
The cold air and fresh snow have transformed the landscape around the ski resort, replacing the autumn tones of the mountainside with a bright white surface.
Low clouds drifting across the slopes have alternately hidden and revealed the peak, giving the mountain a constantly changing appearance throughout the day.
The early snowfall has also raised expectations at the ski resort, where the winter sports season depends on steady snow cover and cold temperatures in the coming weeks.
With more snowfall expected to arrive intermittently, Erciyes is set to continue offering scenes of snow and mist that attract photographers and nature lovers to the mountain.
