Powerful rains, thick fog and freezing nights set to sweep across Türkiye

The Turkish State Meteorological Service announced that Türkiye’s inner and western regions will see partly cloudy to heavily overcast skies, with rain intensifying in the Aegean region of Türkiye, the western shores of Canakkale and Balikesir, as well as parts of Manisa, Denizli, Antalya and Burdur. Other regions are forecast to remain mostly clear.

Officials warn of flash floods and travel disruptions

According to the Turkish State Meteorological Service, rainfall in coastal areas of Izmir, Aydin and Mugla is expected to be locally severe.

Authorities urged residents to remain cautious against potential flash floods, sudden stream rises and transport disruptions, stressing the need for vigilance during shifting weather conditions.

Morning fog and nighttime frost set to challenge travel

Dense fog is likely across Marmara and the central and eastern regions during early morning and late-night hours.

The agency also highlighted the risk of icing and frost in the northeastern sections of Inner Anatolia and Eastern Anatolia, advising the public to take necessary precautions.

Despite the unstable weather pattern, nationwide temperatures are forecast to hover close to seasonal averages in the coming days.
