A unique drone video documented two wolves tracking and hunting a wild goat in the eastern Turkish province of Tunceli Tuesday.

The event took place within the mountainous Mercan Valley near Ovacik, an area widely recognized for its rich wildlife.

The footage showed a wolf separating a wild goat from the herd and pursuing the animal across rocky slopes before repeatedly attacking its leg.

After repeatedly attacking the animal's leg, the predator eventually brought the goat down on an open slope. A second wolf then joined the hunt, and the pair dragged the carcass toward a rocky crevice.

Wild goats are among the primary prey species for wolves in mountainous parts of eastern Türkiye, although such hunts are rarely witnessed or recorded.

Tunceli is home to some of Türkiye's largest and most visible populations of wild goats, particularly in the Munzur Mountains and Mercan Valley, where the species is protected.

Wildlife experts say footage captured by drones can offer valuable insights into predator-prey relationships and the natural dynamics of ecosystems that are often difficult to observe directly.

The images offered a rare look at the hunting behavior of wolves in the wild and the challenges faced by prey species in Türkiye's rugged mountain ecosystems.
