Sami Yusuf to donate part of Istanbul concert proceeds to Palestinians

British-Azerbaijani musician Sami Yusuf has announced that a portion of the proceeds from his upcoming Istanbul concert will be donated to humanitarian aid in Palestine, including the Gaza Strip.

He noted that the decision was driven by the urgent need to help address the ongoing crisis.

Istanbul chosen for album debut

The concert, scheduled for Aug. 23 at Festival Park Yenikapi, will mark the first time Yusuf performs songs from his new album in Istanbul.

He said in a video posted on Instagram that he specifically chose the city for the album’s launch. Festival Park Yenikapi is a popular open-air venue on Istanbul’s waterfront, often hosting large-scale music events.

Blending musical traditions

Titled "Ecstasy: Between Two Seas," the performance will feature Turkish artists and draw from the heritage of Turkish music and poetry.

It will bring together diverse musical traditions from around the world, reflecting the artist’s inspiration from both Eastern and Western influences.

Tickets for the concert can be purchased through Bubilet, iTicket, and Biletix, three major ticketing platforms in Türkiye.

Who is Sami Yusuf?

Sami Yusuf is a British-Azerbaijani singer, songwriter, composer, and multi-instrumentalist of Azerbaijani descent. Since his debut in 2003, he has sold millions of albums worldwide, performing in multiple languages and blending diverse musical traditions.

Recognized for his humanitarian work, he has served as a United Nations Global Ambassador for the World Food Programme.
