Strong magnitude-6 earthquake jolts western U.S. coast

A magnitude 6.0 earthquake struck on Friday off the coast of the American western state of Oregon, according to the US Geological Survey (USGS).

The powerful temor occurred at a shallow depth of 4.4 miles (7.1 kilometers), with the epicenter 186 miles west of the city of Bandon.

No tsunami warning was issued and there were no reports of damage or injuries on land.

In the last 10 days, there have been no earthquakes of magnitude 3.0 or greater centered nearby, reported US media.
