Dan Park, a Swedish street artist known for his controversial works, has been sentenced to six months in prison for sharing content targeting Muslims and Jews.
The Malmö District Court ruled that Park’s posts amounted to incitement to hatred, a criminal offense under Swedish law.
The court noted that in the fall of 2023, Park shared seven images on his account on the U.S.-based social media platform X that demeaned Muslims and Jews.
These posts were deemed to constitute a hate crime, defined under Swedish law as "incitement to hatred and hostility against the public," leading to his imprisonment.
This is not Park’s first conviction.
Swedish state broadcaster SVT reported that he has previously faced multiple sentences for hate-related offenses, particularly targeting minority groups. Beyond his artwork, Park has gained attention for orchestrating political provocations.
In 2020, he invited Danish far-right politician Rasmus Paludan, leader of the Stram Kurs party, to Malmö to burn a Quran, an act that sparked widespread outrage.
