The U.S. supermarket chain Trader Joe’s has added pistachio Turkish baklava to its product range, following the recent introduction of its “Ankara-style Turkish Simidi.”
The move marks another step in bringing Türkiye’s most recognizable street foods and desserts to American consumers through mainstream retail channels.
According to social media posts, the pistachio baklava has begun appearing on Trader Joe’s shelves nationwide. The product is labeled as a “traditional Turkish dessert” and comes with a serving suggestion to enjoy it with tea or coffee—a pairing deeply rooted in Turkish culture.
Baklava, known for its paper-thin layers of pastry, groundnuts, and light syrup, is one of Türkiye’s best-known culinary exports and a symbol of festive hospitality.
Earlier this year, Trader Joe’s drew attention for introducing “Ankara-style Turkish Simidi,” a circular sesame-crusted bread often described as Türkiye’s answer to the bagel.
With simit and baklava now widely available across its stores, Trader Joe’s has positioned itself as a gateway for U.S. shoppers seeking authentic Turkish tastes, offering a simple way to experience centuries-old flavors from Anatolia.
