Turkish Airlines was named Europe’s Best Airline for the 11th time at the 2026 Skytrax World Airline Awards, taking home eight awards in total, including World’s Best Business Class Catering and Best Airline in Southern Europe.
According to a statement from the airline, Turkish Airlines, which flies to more countries than any other carrier, also climbed to fifth place in Skytrax’s ranking of the world’s best airlines.
The awards, often referred to as the “Oscars of Aviation,” were presented at a ceremony in London on Sept. 18.
Turkish Airlines won World’s Best Business Class Catering for the 10th time and Best Airline in Southern Europe for the 13th time.
The carrier also received five additional awards across economy and business class categories in Europe and Southern Europe, bringing its total to eight awards at the ceremony.
Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and Executive Committee Murat Seker said receiving the Europe’s Best Airline title for the 11th time, along with leading positions in two other categories, was a source of pride for the airline.
He said the results reflected the international recognition of the airline’s service standards, ranging from overall travel experience to catering, and stressed that the awards were based directly on passenger evaluations.
“We thank all our colleagues who contributed to this success and our guests who trust us,” Seker said. “As Turkish Airlines, we will continue to represent our country in the strongest way in the skies and remain one of the brands shaping the future of global aviation.”
Skytrax CEO Edward Plaisted congratulated Turkish Airlines on its performance at the 2026 World Airline Awards.
He highlighted the carrier’s recognition as Europe’s Best Airline, its fifth-place global ranking and the World’s Best Business Class Catering award, saying the Turkish DO&CO partnership continued to set standards in the industry.
Plaisted said Turkish Airlines continued to offer passengers a comprehensive product experience combined with high standards of service and hospitality.
With a network spanning six continents and recognized by Guinness World Records, Turkish Airlines said it continues to promote Turkish hospitality while advancing sustainability, technology and innovation in aviation.
