Temperatures soared above 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) in 14 provinces on Thursday. The hottest spots were Kurtalan (Siirt) and Silopi (Sirnak), both recording 45.4 degrees Celsius—the highest so far this summer.
In southeastern cities such as Diyarbakir, Mardin, and Siirt, the heat is expected to persist through the weekend, with no rainfall in sight and continued health warnings for vulnerable groups.

Diyarbakir, Siirt, Mardin
Intense heat will continue. No rain forecast. Highs up to 42–45 degrees Celsius.
Moderate to strong northerly winds (40–60 kilometers/hour) are expected in Marmara and North Aegean coastal areas, while southerly winds will impact eastern Türkiye.
Temperatures in central and northern provinces will begin to drop slightly, but southeastern Türkiye will remain dangerously hot through the weekend.
