The meeting lasted about an hour and was followed by a signing ceremony for the agreement.

Under the pact, Türkiye and Georgia will work to strengthen cooperation in education, open educational institutions on the basis of reciprocity and advance the recognition of diplomas and other educational documents.

The agreement also seeks to promote the teaching of Turkish and Georgian and increase the exchange of information and experience in education.

Ministers highlight bilateral partnership

Speaking after the ceremony, Tekin said stronger cooperation between neighboring countries would contribute to peace, human rights and democracy in the region.

“The stronger our neighbor and we are, and the better our cooperation with our neighbor is, the stronger peace, human rights and democracy will be in our region,” Tekin said.

Mikanadze said Tekin's visit was important for further developing relations between the two countries.

“This visit once again underscores the extremely positive cooperation, strategic partnership and friendship between the two countries,” he said.
