Türkiye has achieved a significant milestone in international tourism, ranking fourth globally in 2024 for the number of tourists received, with tourism revenues surpassing $65 billion, according to Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Nadir Alpaslan.
Alpaslan made the announcement during the opening ceremony of the Kemer Kopru Public Library in Cerkes, Cankiri, a project completed under a protocol signed between the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Cerkes Municipality. The Deputy Minister emphasized that the new library would enhance the cultural life of the district and expressed gratitude to all parties involved in the project’s completion.
In his speech, Alpaslan spotlighted Türkiye’s remarkable progress in tourism, culture, and history.
“Despite the turbulence and conflicts around us, Türkiye has firmly established itself as a global tourism leader,” he said.
He noted that worldwide interest in cultural heritage, religious tourism, gastronomy, and natural beauty is booming, with Türkiye emerging as a top destination.
Highlighting the West Black Sea Region, Alpaslan emphasized Cerkes’s potential to attract visitors with its historic landmarks, scenic landscapes, and rich local cuisine. He added that investments in cultural infrastructure, such as the new library, will strengthen the region’s tourism and educational appeal.
The inauguration concluded with a ribbon-cutting ceremony, followed by a special program where students at the library received gifts, celebrating their love for reading and learning.
