Two cities from Türkiye have earned a place on the list of the Safest Cities in the World, as compiled by CEOWORLD Magazine and the Safety Index Report. The annual index evaluates cities based on crime rates, the effectiveness of law enforcement, public safety measures, and residents’ perceptions of security.
Eskisehir, a mid-sized city in central Türkiye known for its universities and high quality of life, has ranked 39th on the global list with a score of 91.77. It stood out as the safest city in Türkiye included in the top 50, marking a significant recognition for the city in terms of urban safety and livability.
Eskisehir’s placement also highlights its relatively low crime rate and strong sense of public order. Though not as internationally known as Istanbul or Ankara, the city has gained attention in recent years for its modern infrastructure and resident-friendly policies.
Antalya, Türkiye’s major tourist hub on the Mediterranean coast, also made the cut, ranking 49th on the list. Known for its beaches, historic sites, and steady influx of international visitors, Antalya’s inclusion reflects the city’s ongoing efforts to maintain safety for both residents and tourists.
Despite being a much larger and more tourism-driven city than Eskisehir, Antalya managed to achieve a comparable score in public safety indicators, demonstrating that large-scale tourism and safety can go hand in hand.
The top spot on the safety list went to Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates, with a score of 97.73. It was followed closely by Taipei in Taiwan and Doha in Qatar.
These cities are often cited for their efficient governance, investment in surveillance and public safety infrastructure, and low levels of violent crime.
