Ihlara Glass Terrace in Aksaray welcomed 202,000 visitors in the first six months of 2026, strengthening the city’s tourism appeal with a viewing point overlooking Ihlara Valley, an area known for bringing together historic and natural scenery.
Opened by Aksaray Municipality in 2024, the glass viewing terrace hosted visitors from 30 countries during the first half of the year. According to the municipality, 72,000 of the visitors were foreign tourists, while 130,000 came from across Türkiye.

The terrace drew interest from tourists from several countries, including Japan, China, South Korea, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Germany, Greece, India, Russia and Ukraine.
Aksaray Mayor Evren Dincer said the figures showed that Aksaray was gaining a stronger position in tourism. He noted that the project had helped visitors experience Ihlara Valley’s landscape from a different perspective while also adding momentum to the local tourism sector.
Dincer said the glass terrace had been designed with visitor comfort in mind, offering viewing areas, rest zones, photo points, walking paths, cafe services, parking and other social facilities.
He said local and foreign tourist numbers were rising each year and added that the municipality had started to see returns from its tourism investments. The visitor flow, he said, was contributing to the city economy, local businesses and the wider tourism sector.
“Everyone who comes here witnesses Ihlara Valley’s magnificent view from a different angle and has an unforgettable experience,” Dincer said, inviting local and foreign visitors to see the site in person.
The mayor added that the glass terrace is expected to continue drawing strong visitor numbers in the second half of the year.
