A honey producer in Türkiye’s central province of Sivas is shipping locally sourced comb and strained honey to domestic and overseas markets, including Europe, Asia, the United States and Canada.

The company analyzes honey bought from regional beekeepers and packages it for sale.

Honey purchased from regional beekeepers is analyzed at a factory in the Sivas Organized Industrial Zone before being packaged for sale.

The products are consumed not only across Türkiye but also in overseas markets.

Company owner Ibrahim Dogan told an Anadolu Agency (AA) correspondent that the business has been operating since 1995 and has dealerships in many provinces.

Regional product from Central Anatolia

Dogan said comb honey is strongly associated with Türkiye’s Central Anatolia Region and is considered unique to the area.

“Our comb honey is a product unique to this region,” he said. “Wherever you go in the world, comb honey is concentrated in Türkiye’s Central Anatolia region.”

He added that the company purchases honey from Sivas, Erzincan and Erzurum and markets it across Türkiye and worldwide.

Rich flora and high-altitude quality

Dogan pointed to the region’s high altitude and diverse plant life, including thyme and milkvetch, as key factors behind the honey’s quality.

“Our products are high quality and among the honeys accepted worldwide,” he said. “Honey is a value of our country.”

He noted that the company sells its products both abroad and domestically.

Annual purchases reach 4,000 tons

According to Dogan, the company buys around 4,000 tons of comb and strained honey each year, with a significant portion exported.

The packaged honey, he said, continues to find demand beyond Türkiye’s borders.

Dogan said the company moved its main base from Germany to Austria, from where it ships honey to countries including France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom.

“We distribute to all European Union (EU) countries,” he said, adding that shipments also reach Asian and Arab countries, as well as the United States and Canada.

“One way or another, the world tastes our honey,” Dogan said. He emphasized the natural character of comb honey.

“Strained honey is our product, but comb honey is made by the bees, so it is untouched by human hands. It’s organic honey. We only package the honey made entirely by the bees. That’s why the feedback is positive,” he said.
