New figures released by Hepsiburada provide a detailed picture of what people in Türkiye read in 2025.

The data is based on book sales, search behavior, and favorite lists across the platform. It reflects how reading preferences developed over the year and where demand concentrated.

According to Hepsiburada, readers placed around 15 million book orders in 2025, selecting from more than 325,000 different titles.

The figures point to a strong focus on children’s books, continued interest in both Turkish and international fiction, and visible attention to newly released works.

Children’s books lead Turkish book sales in 2025

Children’s books ranked as the most popular category by sales volume throughout the year in Türkiye. The most ordered title in this category was “The Badger Can't Sleep” by Constanze Von Kitzing.

It was followed by “My Book of General Knowledge – I Talk” by Cagri Odabasi and “Zorbaliga Karsi Taktiklerim Var” (I Have Tactics Against Bullying) by Saniye Bencik Kangal. The results point to sustained demand for early learning and child focused content among Turkish readers.

When sales are examined by author, Cagri Odabasi ranked first overall. His book became the most ordered title on the platform during the year. He was followed by Zulfu Livaneli with “Wait for Me” and Saniye Bencik Kangal with “Sinir Var Sinir Yok” (Boundaries, Not Anger).

The data also shows a gender split in purchasing habits. Women placed 55% of book orders in 2025, while men accounted for 45%.

Turkish, international fiction titles shape reading choices

In literary fiction, “Wait for Me” by Zulfu Livaneli ranked as the most ordered Turkish title of 2025.

In translated fiction, “The Secret of Secrets” by Dan Brown topped sales among international titles.

Other widely read Turkish fiction titles included works by Ahmet Umit, Sabahattin Ali, and Ayfer Tunc.

Among translated and international works, Turkish readers continued to show strong interest in “The Midnight Library” by Matt Haig, “Flowers for Algernon” by Daniel Keyes, “Crime and Punishment” by Fyodor Dostoyevsky, and “On the Shortness of Life” by Seneca.

Personal development titles also remained visible in Türkiye’s reading landscape, led by “The DNA Field and the Law of Resonance” by Pierre Franckh.

Data shows how Turkish readers choose books in Türkiye

Sales figures were reinforced by search and favorite data, which offered further insight into reader interest.

The most searched book on Hepsiburada in 2025 was “Baby University: First Concepts Stories,” again by Cagri Odabasi. The most searched author of the year was Saniye Bencik Kangal.

Favorite lists suggested longer term interest beyond immediate purchases. “My Book of General Knowledge – I Talk” ranked first among books added to favorites during the year.

New releases also played a clear role in shaping reading choices in Türkiye.

Titles such as “The Secret of Secrets,” “Wait for Me,” and “Bir Aile Meselesi” (A Family Matter) by Zeynep Cihangir Cankaya and Serdar Cankaya drew strong attention shortly after publication. Dan Brown’s novel recorded more than 3,000 orders in its first week.

Overall, the 2025 data points to a Turkish book market shaped by children’s education, loyalty to established authors, and continued interest in both new releases and well known international works across Türkiye.
