Turkish State Meteorological Service (MGM) issued a yellow-coded alert—an advisory level urging caution—for six Black Sea provinces on Monday, warning of locally strong rainfall while cooler air settles over the north and interior.
A yellow-coded alert signals conditions that may disrupt daily life and warrant extra care.
Meteorological Service listed Artvin, Giresun, Ordu, Rize, Samsun, and Trabzon among the provinces under this caution notice, with locally strong showers expected especially along the Eastern Black Sea coast and around Ordu.
Forecasts point to partly to mostly cloudy skies nationwide, bringing rain in wide areas including the southern Aegean, western Mediterranean inland districts, much of Central Anatolia (excluding Eskisehir and Karaman), the inland Western Black Sea, the Central and Eastern Black Sea, the northern Eastern Anatolia, and the provinces of Adana, Osmaniye, Hatay, Sinop, Bitlis, Sirnak, and Siirt.
At higher elevations in the interior Eastern Black Sea and the northeast of Eastern Anatolia, precipitation may mix with snow or briefly turn to snow.
Turkish State Meteorological Service expects temperatures to fall across northern and interior regions, running below seasonal norms in the north while staying near normal elsewhere.
North and west winds are forecast to blow light to moderate, helping to usher in the cooler air occasionally.
Patches of mist and fog could form in the southern Marmara and North Aegean during the morning, potentially reducing visibility for commuters.
Turkish State Meteorological Service urged caution where showers turn strong along the Eastern Black Sea coast and around Ordu, advising residents to stay alert to potential short-term disruptions from intense downpours.
