In two separate hot-air balloon accidents that occurred in Türkiye's Aksaray province, one pilot lost his life, and 31 people were injured, including 19 Indonesians and 12 Indians.
Aksaray Governor Mehmet Ali Kumbuzoglu said that a hot-air balloon taking off from the Ihlara Valley toward Mount Hasan made a hard landing near the village of Gozlukuyu.
Governor Kumbuzoglu stated that the pilot died in the accident and 19 Indonesian tourists were injured.
Explaining that the pilot's legs got tangled in a rope, causing him to fall from the basket, Kumbuzoglu said, "Unfortunately, our pilot ended up under the basket and passed away.
The condition of our tourists is good. We transported them to the hospital by ambulance. Their examinations are underway."
Another hot-air balloon that took off from the Ihlara Valley also made a hard landing near Belisırma village in the Guzelyurt district.
It was reported that 12 Indian tourists sustained minor injuries and were taken to nearby hospitals.
