Pop star Murat Dalkilic, 16 others detained in Istanbul drug probe

Turkish media reported that 17 celebrities were taken into custody as part of an investigation into alleged drug use and prostitution involving public figures, including singers Kaan Tangoze and Murat Dalkilic.

Authorities said detention warrants were issued for 25 individuals on allegations related to drug offenses under Turkish law. These include purchasing, accepting, possessing or using narcotic or stimulant substances for personal use, as well as facilitating the use of such substances. Under Turkish legislation, narcotic or stimulant substances refer to illegal drugs that affect the central nervous system and may lead to dependency.

Operation carried out by Istanbul Police Narcotics Units

Following the prosecutor’s orders, teams from the Istanbul Police Department’s Narcotics Crimes Division moved in and carried out coordinated operations across the city. As a result, 17 suspects were detained.

Among those taken into custody are businessman Hakan Tuncelli, identified as the owner of a venue known as Terzi; singer Murat Dalkilic; Kaan Tangoze, the lead vocalist of the band Duman; and Murat Cevahiroglu. Others detained include Baris Talay, Hakan Kakiz, Kemal Dogulu, Murat Ozturk, identified as the owner of a business named Bonivex, Muratcan Kurt and Nailcan Kurt, described as partners in a company called Zuber, as well as Alihan Taskin, Tolga Sezgin, Ramazan Bayar, Aygun Aydin, Buse Gorkem Narci, Ismail Hacioglu and Furkan Kocan.

Search efforts continue for remaining suspects

Authorities indicated that efforts are ongoing to track down the remaining eight individuals named in the detention orders. The investigation itself remains active, and prosecutors continue to oversee the process through the relevant specialized bureau.

No further details about the scope of the alleged activities or the timeline of the investigation were disclosed. Officials have not yet released additional statements regarding possible court proceedings or charges beyond the initial detention warrants.
