A driver in Istanbul's Gokturk neighborhood was caught on camera maneuvering around a fish swimming across a flooded road after severe rainfall left parts of the city underwater and claimed four lives.
The footage shows a blue car making its way through muddy floodwaters before the driver suddenly changes direction to avoid running over a fish that had been swept onto the road.
The unusual encounter, recorded in one of the areas hardest hit by the flooding, quickly drew attention on social media.
A social media user identified as Erhan Tezakar shared the footage, highlighting the driver's efforts to avoid harming the fish despite the difficult road conditions.
In his post, Erhan Tezakar praised the driver for taking care to protect the animal, describing the incident as an example of human kindness amid the flooding.
The footage emerged as Istanbul continued to deal with the aftermath of severe downpours that flooded roads and neighborhoods, leaving four people dead.
