Turkish defense company Aselsan has signed air defense contracts worth nearly €1.5 billion ($1.6 billion), including a €488.5 million ($549.1 million) export deal with an undisclosed foreign customer, according to filings with Türkiye's Public Disclosure Platform (KAP).
The company also signed additional contracts worth €1.0085 billion with Türkiye's Defense Industries Presidency (SSB) for ongoing serial production of long-range air defense systems.
The deals add to Aselsan's growing air defense portfolio at home and abroad, as Türkiye's defense and aerospace exports rose 16.2% to $6.3 billion in the first eight months of the year, according to President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
"Aselsan has signed a sales contract with a foreign end user for the export of Air Defense Systems, with a total value of 488.5 million euros," the company said in its KAP filing.
Aselsan did not disclose the buyer's identity or the specific systems covered by the contract.
"Additional contracts with a total value of €1.01 million have been signed between Aselsan and the Presidency of Defense Industries of the Republic of Türkiye within the scope of ongoing serial production projects of Long-Range Air Defense Systems," Aselsan SAN said in a separate filing.
The company did not specify which long-range systems the contracts cover.
The Aselsan air defense contracts total €1.497 billion combined.
