Five people were killed and two others injured when a car carrying seven people veered out of control and plunged into a ravine in Antalya’s Manavgat district on Sunday morning.
The crash occurred in the Beydigin neighborhood along the Tasagil-Derebucak road.
Witnesses alerted authorities, prompting medical, fire department, Disaster and Emergency Management Authority, or AFAD, and gendarmerie teams to be dispatched to the scene.
Emergency crews descended into the ravine and determined that five people inside the vehicle had died.
The two injured occupants were removed from the car by rescue teams and transported to a hospital by helicopter.
One of the injured passengers was pregnant, according to Antalya Governor Hulusi Sahin.
Sahin confirmed that seven people had been traveling in the vehicle, with five killed and two injured in the crash.
Medical, fire, the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), and gendarmerie teams continued their work at the scene.
