Well-known Turkish entertainers, including comedian Hasan Can Kaya and singer Reynmen, were among 26 people taken into custody in a large-scale operation coordinated by Türkiye’s Istanbul Anatolian Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office on allegations of drug use and drug procurement.
The operation was carried out by the Istanbul Provincial Gendarmerie’s Narcotics Crime Unit in the early hours of Jan. 31, 2026.
Officials said the action followed a prolonged period of “technical and physical surveillance,” a term used in Türkiye to describe investigations combining monitored communications with on-the-ground observation.
Investigators said teams moved in simultaneously on multiple locations as part of what was described as a “dawn raid.”
During the searches, authorities reported that they seized digital materials and other evidence from the targeted addresses.
Among those reported detained were comedian Hasan Can Kaya and Yusuf Aktas, better known by his stage name Reynmen.
The list of detainees named in the report also included Emirhan Cakal, as well as several other social media figures such as Mert Eren Bulbul, Berkcan Guven, Mazlum Akturk, Sila Dundar, and Dondu Sahin.
Alongside the detentions, the report said arrest warrants were issued for Enes Batur Sungurtekin and Baris Murat Yagci, with the stated reason that they were believed to be outside the country.
A Turkish media report also listed additional individuals as “sought” or “still being searched for” in connection with the case, alongside further names included under the investigation’s scope.
