Türkiye's Ministry of National Defense announced that the delivery of new defense industry products to the Turkish Armed Forces inventory, including sensor reconnaissance, radar and command vehicles, along with Dragoneye-2 Thermal Cameras from domestic manufacturer FNSS.
The Land Forces Command received various quantities of PARS 6x6 and 8x8 special-purpose tactical wheeled armored vehicles, marking the first time these vehicle variants entered the military's inventory.
"Our efforts to further increase the power and effectiveness of our Turkish Armed Forces continue with strategic and technological products developed domestically and nationally in all areas of our defense industry," the Defense Ministry stated in its announcement on Thursday.
The PARS IZCI vehicles, described as "the eyes that see the horizon of mechanized infantry," will serve as a significant force multiplier for Türkiye's ground forces.
The vehicles enable fast, high-quality reconnaissance operations through their centralized command and control systems that provide real-time intelligence gathering.
FNSS developed the PARS 6x6 IZCI through its research and development program, creating a vehicle optimized for reconnaissance and surveillance missions with enhanced situational awareness and high personnel comfort.
The company prioritized subsystem localization, increasing the vehicle's domestic content ratio through R&D projects and completing all tests for locally developed subsystems.
The PARS IZCI family, comprising both 6x6 and 8x8 variants, features a modular design by FNSS engineers, one of Türkiye's leading armored vehicle manufacturers, to achieve high localization rates. The vehicles can be configured according to potential requirements in line with project objectives.
Under the Special Purpose Tactical Wheeled Armored Vehicles (OMTTZA) Project, FNSS signed a contract with the Presidency of Defense Industries (SSB) in 2021 to deliver 30 6x6 command vehicles, 45 8x8 sensor reconnaissance vehicles, and 15 6x6 radar vehicles to the Turkish Land Forces Command.
Under the FNSS Defense OMTTZA Project, a contract was signed in 2021 between FNSS and the SSB for the delivery of:
The vehicles were delivered as part of this comprehensive agreement aimed at enhancing Turkish military reconnaissance capabilities.
The PARS IZCI 6x6 and 8x8 vehicles, specially designed for reconnaissance and internal security operations, offer high situational awareness capabilities that provide tactical advantages to operators.
The vehicles maintain high mobility across all terrain conditions while featuring superior ballistic and mine protection capabilities.
The protection level of PARS IZCI matches that of personnel carriers explicitly designed for mine protection while incorporating capabilities expected in modern armored combat vehicles.
The vehicles' modular armor systems allow users to adjust protection levels according to operational requirements.
