A forest fire broke out in the Kas district of Antalya, southern Türkiye, prompting an extensive response from firefighting teams by air and on the ground.
The blaze started in a forested area near the Uzumlu neighborhood for a reason that has not yet been determined.
Fire crews from the Antalya Regional Directorate of Forestry, the local authority responsible for protecting and managing forested areas, were sent to the scene alongside municipal firefighters after the alarm was raised.
The fire grew under the impact of strong winds, making efforts to bring it under control more difficult.
Six helicopters and three firefighting aircraft were initially deployed to tackle the flames from above.
On the ground, teams moved in with fire engines, water supply vehicles and more than 100 forestry workers.
Firefighters continue to work from the air and on the ground to contain the blaze.
