Ankara's JW Marriott under heavy security ahead of Trump's arrival

Heavy security measures have been deployed around the JW Marriott Hotel in Ankara, where U.S. President Donald Trump will stay during the 36th NATO Heads of State and Government Summit.

Police teams have established barriers around the hotel, controlling all vehicle and pedestrian access to the area.

Officers are checking the documents of drivers and conducting searches of vehicles and individuals.

X-ray machines at hotel entrance

NATO personnel have begun arriving at the JW Marriott ahead of the summit opening, passing through X-ray screening machines set up at the hotel's entrance.

Special operations units are also on standby around the hotel. Security measures will remain in place continuously throughout the duration of the summit, according to local reports.

Police have extended security checks across Ankara as part of the summit's security framework. On the Turgut Ozal Boulevard, officers are stopping vehicles and individuals deemed suspicious.

Administrative fines have been issued to drivers found in violation of traffic rules, disrupting traffic flow, or carrying incomplete documentation.

A total of 49,000 police officers and 7,000 gendarmerie personnel have been deployed across Ankara. Security operations will continue throughout the summit.
